wow, has it been a whirlwind of a december or what! here's a brief update:
I spent a little less than a week in South Africa, which is a lot like how I expected it to be. contrary to popular belief, it isn't a dilapidated country where 5 families sleep in the same house with each husband possessing 5 wives each.
first of all, their currency is not too far off from the Ringgit. 1 South African Rand = 1 Malaysian Ringgit. so, you'll probably have a picture of their economic status from there.
oh yes, the inhabitants aren't ALL black. every 10 black guys = one white guy. so, yes, they are the majority, but a lot of the residents are coloured, which means neither pure Black or pure White.
after I touched down from SA, I met up with bako, who spent most of his next 48 hours at my place, which I definitely appreciated, seeing as I haven't seen him for 5 months. time sure flies.
not to mention that I spent a lot of my own waking hours with my girls, talking, shopping, playing Wii, laughing, and in my case - hiccuping. *shakes head* something is seriously wrong with me.
and yes, I've started working again, but hopefully not for long, since I'm jet-setting to Egypt with my parents, sis and joel on new year's and only coming back a little bit over a week later.
till then, here's a random photo I took at our first tourist destination in SA to whet your appetite. :)

ever since I started working, I realised I've seen the best and worst of human behaviour. I've also seen the contrasts in them. but, most of all, I've seen life - in its greatest glory and at its darkest hour.
today was the first time I touched a dead person, a dead person I've never known, that I'll never get the chance to know. someone who didn't deserve to die because she never lived.
I spent the whole day at Tebrau City just shopping. *lifts feet up to table* boy, am I tired! BUT! it was rather fruitful as I slashed quite a number of wishlist items off. bought an affordable pair of shades, boxer shorts, a dress that almost moved weiyi to tears (no, seriously), my nike bag (but in a different colour) and settled jie and mum's x'mas pressies. I did manage to try on the size 4 somersetbay dress, but they need altering and that's something I need to consider..
now, pardon me as I close my eyes for a while....
