2. Each player answers the questions about themselves.

I have two mcq tests to study for this weekend and also a group assignment to contribute to. dunno whether it's the olympics or blogging about tasmania, but I'm not ready to let go of the holiday spirit!

before heading to the botanic gardens, we stop beside the road to snap a few photos of the infamous tasman bridge. in 1975, a bulk carrier collided with the bridge, killing 5 motorists whose cars ran over the gap into the Derwent River. obviously, they've now rebuilt it, but the bulk carrier still lies at the bottom of the river.

dad trying to make friends at the Botanic Gardens.

this guy sure brought the summer into the cold wintry grounds. awww.

onwards with the tour of tasmania... here's australia's oldest brewery. why am I not surprised it's in tasmania, with all the ex-cons. lager? bring it on!

by a rivulet ie. little river, that flows through hobart city. the two guys from our tour up front.

this used to be called the female factory - a female prison where the inmates produced lovely handmade fudge. personally, not a great fan of fudge, reminds me of poo. :S anyway, our tour guide/driver told us that his great great grandma was one of the inmates in the female factory for many many years.

ps: get well soon, vinnie! mr. baker is now 2 kgs lighter without his appendix. heh.

if you know me, you know I don't like koalaland much. I mean, I like their cute furry animals but their human counterparts... not so much. they think they're so darn great. omg, please lah.
so, yesterday, I was in my 3rd hour of lecture and these two angmoh dudes behind me were yakking away from the moment they sat down. I thought this was very disrespectful cos' my lecturer had to tell a lot of people to leave the theatre and come back for the later session as there were too many of us. some even had to sit at the staircase at the entrance, and here were these bozos talking non-stop. if I was like, 6 feet tall, blond and busty, I would turn around and tell them in my whiniest voice to keep their voices down, or they wouldn't get my number. but unfortunately, as xin puts it so aptly, I'm a Tiny Asian Girl and hence get trampled on easily by bronzy buff aussie airheads. (yes, I'm talking about the guys)
anyway, the guy beside me was really irritated by half past and he went, 'excuse me!' really loud but that only got the attention of may and me. so, stupid dudes kept talking loudly like they were at a footy game or whatever.
10 minutes to the end of lecture, I turn around irritated and go, 'could you two please keep quiet for the next 10 minutes? thanks.' the skinnier of the two and also surprise surprise, the blonder one, goes, 'I would, if you would tell me politely.' I told you they were airheads. what - please and thanks weren't good enough for you two girlies? they were lucky I didn't tell them to shut the &#^$&%! up! they did shut up after that until like, the last minute of lecture when blondie couldn't keep his mouth shut till the end of the session. it was really funny thinking about it after cos' when I turned around, blondie's friend was so embarassed, he couldn't even look me in the eye. and may had told me that she had given them both her icy chinese stare just as I was telling them to keep quiet. but I was really annoyed the whole afternoon after, I just wanted to kick them.

two weeks ago, the 'rents came down to melbourne for around 6 days. the moment they stepped foot on aussie soil, I met them at the airport and the 3 of us got a flight to tasmania.
our initial plan was to rent a car to drive around tasmania, but guess who not only didn't bring my new unprobational driver's licence but did not bring their original copies as well? surprisingly, my mother called it a blessing in disguise, cos' with the car and everyone's bad navigational skills, we'd end up in the tasman sea.

right outside our hotel in tasmania.

the next day, we got on a gray line bus and went up to mt. wellington.
caution: do not go up to mt. wellington in the morning. it's cold, it's wet, and all you see is white hazy mist. here's my dad thinking, 'whose bright idea was it to go up this stupid thing?'

later in the morning...
